After winning the 13th parliamentary election, BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman will pay a courtesy call on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman and Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam.

Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit their respective residences in Dhaka on Sunday (February 15) evening and meet them directly.

BNP media wing sources said that he will visit Shafiqur Rahman’s residence in Bashundhara residential area at 7 pm. Then, he is scheduled to visit Nahid Islam’s residence in Badda around 8 pm.

BNP is also in touch with the two leaders concerned in this regard, the party’s media wing said.

BNP has informed that this courtesy call is being held ‘as part of positive politics’.

It is worth noting that according to the results of the 13th parliamentary election, BNP alone won 209 out of 297 seats. The alliance partners have won 3 more seats. In total, the BNP alliance’s number of seats in the next parliament stands at 212. However, BNP is likely to win two more seats.

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has won two seats from Dhaka and Bogra, participating in the parliamentary elections for the first time.
